You might not think of applesauce as being one of those things you need to make. I mean, Mott’s has a pretty good handle on the market right? But I’m hear to tell you, as someone who has made 4 batches in 2 weeks, Mott’s ain’t got nothin’ on me. No kidding, I’m eating a small bowl of homemade applesauce right now, fresh out of the slow cooker, as a late night snack!
When I studied abroad during my junior year of college I stayed a few weeks after my program ended to travel. I made my way from Paris over to Seville to visit another friend studying abroad and then over to London to catch my flight back to the States. I only had a day or two in London and was beyond broke, but I was so grateful for pubs and beer and the English language. Up until then I’d jumped between the bare basics of Italian, French and Spanish for nearly 4 months. English was a welcome break for my brain and I wish I could have stayed in London a bit longer, to soak in that city. The time abroad ended, summer began and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels hit the theater in Lawrence. I was still riding that study abroad high and just had to be surrounded by that British accent and feel like I was overseas and not stuck in the middle of the country. I loved my little time in London and wanted to go back so badly that I convinced my husband it should be stop #1 on our honeymoon. #winning
