Classroom Valentines! Erasers + Lollies

Valentine’s Day cards have come a long way from paper doilies, glitter, and glue you guys! And since it might be my kids’ favorite holiday (next to Christmas of course) I like to make it special by helping them create their own Classroom Valentines. I’m going to be ZERO help when it comes to calculus and fractions but give me a design project and I’m IN.

My oldest is now in the first phase of orthodontia, as are many classmates, so we went with a non-candy option for that class. I L❤️VE the Target dollar bins for these kinds of things! They’re TEAMING with options. You know those pull-apart erasers that stack into an object or animal? Well I saw these little dessert erasers and knew I could come up with something there. 16 for $3 so I picked up 2 bags. We’ll have a good amount leftover but they’re fun birthday gift add-ons so they won’t go to waste.

We went back and forth on the cards but finally settled on “You’re too sweet to be erased” after seeing it on Pinterest a few times. I feel like this card could be used with any mini eraser, not just these dessert-themed ones. The sentiment’s the same right? My oldest wrote out the cards and used a hot glue gun to adhere the erasers which worked brilliantly. The erasers stay put but peel off easily, as does the glue.

For my lollipop-obsessed youngest I found a box of 25 Tootsie Pops Miniatures that came with cards. However the “Be Mine” and “Hugs & Kisses” sentiments were apparently NOT ok to be given out. When did the opposite sex become “gross???” I thought I had more time! 😭 So we went with the tried and true “Happy Valentine’s Day.” You know, for ALL the girls and boys with cooties 😂 My youngest personalized the back of the cards and thread the lollipop sticks through the cards, using a bit of Scotch tape to secure it. If you want to go with another type of lollipop the cards are the appropriate size for any smaller lollie like Dum-Dums or the YumEarth Organic Lollipops.

Because sharing is caring I’m including both cards below as FREE printables! There are crop marks on the eraser cards and lollipop insert crop marks on the heart cards to make life a bit easier. If you use either or both of these please send me a pic of your finished Valentines. I’d love to see how you made them work for you!
